“Regulated, connected children who feel safe (and know what to do) behave well.” -Robyn Gobbel
Most importantly, each time a participant steps into my therapy space, my hope is for them to feel safe, supported, heard and validated. Some bigger goals I have for each participant are to feel confident in who they are and what they bring to this world, learn self-acceptance through self-study, and learn how their nervous system works so they can feel successful, supported, and safe in their everyday experiences.
Individuals I serve…
I have experience serving individuals of all ages and abilities. Throughout my professional years, I have gained a lot of experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum, individuals with global developmental delay, as well as individuals with other mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. The skills/goals I work on in my sessions often are surrounding body - based regulation skills, gross motor skills, social skills (turn taking, patience, losing games), conversational skills (conversational etiquette, starting/stopping conversations), confidence, self-awareness, boundaries, anxiety - relief strategies, gaining strength & mobility, reducing mental health symptoms using yoga - based modalities, and coping skills.

Play is integral to the human experience. Play allows us to learn, grow, develop, evolve, and grow back into our fun, passionate, and child-like brain. Every day I get to utilize play to help each individual I serve learn more about themselves and how to navigate the world around them.
My approach to therapy…
In my therapy sessions, a trauma - informed, somatic - based, strengths - based, and client - focused lens is always utilized throughout. I believe strongly in forming a strong therapeutic foundation built with connection, trust, and co-regulation at the forefront. During my sessions, I utilize a variety of recreational, leisure, somatic, and yoga - based modalities, which are always tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Here are some examples of interventions utilized in sessions with me: board games, obstacle courses, sensory play, imaginative play, card games, asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing), yoga philosophy, weight lifting, somatic - based movements, music, sound, colorful lights, and so much more. As their recreational therapist, I will always use recreational and leisure - based interventions to work on life satisfaction, connection, co-regulation, and overall well-being during each session they have with me.
